"Scorpion Stings"

English version:

There was this Hindu who saw a scorpion floundering around in the water. He decided to save it by stretching out his hands, but the scorpion stung him. The man still tried to get the scorpion out of the water, but the scorpion stung him again.

A man nearby told him to stop saving the scorpion that kept stinging him.

But the Hindu said: "It is the nature of the scorpion to sting. It is my nature to love. Why should I give up my nature to love just because it is the nature of the scorpion to sting?"

Don't give up loving. Don't give up your goodness. Even if people around you sting.

Remarkable. I can see that happening in DeafRead, deaf community, politics, etc.

Love is consistent, persistent, kind, etc. We have to get used to being judged... and we ALL need love (even people who judge need love ;-) )

John, you are a lucky man to have a remarkable wife! ;-)

Yeah, I watched Star Trek: Vorage abour scorpion and fox long time ago!

Right on! Jesus commanded us to love one another even our enemies just like you just shared your moral story. With God, love overpowers all things.

Keep your vlog coming...

Thank you for sharing--I had hard time with what the ''stings'' lately and this is perfect timing to watch and understand SCORPION STINGS vlog. It is a universal theme; not to give up love for harming others! In the end as in karma, judgement is from one's own heart and intentions.

Jill--you ROCK! May the force be with you!

Please talk to Ridor about this!

Hi Jill! So nice to see another vlog post from you! Great story and one I really needed to see. I made a kind yet concsiousness raising comment recently on another vlog but unfortunately I got stung by many. Ouch! I was ready to give up, but your story has encouraged me to keep on sharing the love, even when it looks like I'm up against a bunch of scorpions. ;)

I grinned at the anonymous saying talk to Ridor...

LaRonda, don't give up your website... it is very nice and calming. We are always surrounded by people who like to pick some of us open, but we often forget that they are also humans and need loving and they act out when feel threatened. I know I do act out sometimes :-)

See the story about the Scorpion by Jehanne's grandma. I wonder if you were inspired by her story.

Yep, I saw the similar story done by Jehanne's grandma. You can see it for yourself through deafread.

There is a variant of the scorpion story: a snake begged to be taken across a river by a dog. The dog said, "But you will bite me and your poison will make me die." The snake promised not to fang him and finally convinced the dog. As the dog swam across with the snake around its neck, the snake fanged him. "Why did you bite me when you promised not to?" The snake replied, "You knew what I was before you took me."

Love and kindness are good but are not to be wasted on the wrong kind.

Love that lesson... Learn to never give up the love... Love and Forgive is power of all...

Enjoyed the morale of the story. =) By the way, I am curious if you plan to answer some of the ?'s that was posted in comments in your previous blog? I am curious about some of the ?'s myself, too.

Hi again,

I just put my comment in "A World in Need of Love"....I listened to your "Scorpion Stings" story...Yes Yes that was what I meant with my first recent comment. I tried to show our "friendly" converstations with our former neighbor but they did not see through at all that made us hate. disrespect them for what they did to our children and it was so hard on us until they moved out of the neighborhood and we feel so peace.
Take care, CJ
